I bought a DSLR. Just to show you how cheap I am, I waited until not only =
the company got bought out by another, the unit was put out of production, =
and then walmart bought out the last units and sold them on the cheap! It'=
s a Konica Minolta 7d (which is my favorite DSLR anyway).=20=20

Here's your drool point: Over the weekend, I found on ebay a 500mm catadio=
ptric autofocussing lens for it! Since the 500mm is full 35mm frame, this =
lens gives an equivalent 750mm focal length on this camera. And since this=
camera has anti-shake built into the CCD, this lens is image stabilized to=
 boot!!!

I took a few shots of various power transformers last night, and the lens i=
s tack sharp!

It is amazing how much easier (and noisier) it is to photograph things with=
a DSLR. The camera is blindingly fast with 3 frames/sec and virtually ins=
tantaneous autofocus.

My big problem has been getting close enough -- now I have to get farther a=
way!

Cardinals beware.

Steve=
